USBTC Winners Announced


The United States Beer Tasting Championship (USBTC) announced their 18th annual summer competition winners. Craft brewery heavy weights from around the country sent their best beers in and were examined across 15 categories. In total, the USBTC judged 502 beers from 127 breweries. Although no local breweries were awarded the honor of Grand Champion, they did very well in the Midwest category.

Saugatuck Brewing Company won best Imperial IPA/Red Ale and Bitter/ESB. Founders took the India Pale Ale and Fruit Beer awards. New Holland Brewing Company won best Sour Beer. And, Tri City Brewing rounded out the Michigan winners with best Dortmunder/Helles, Wheat Beer, and Session Beer.
